Company:

Mob-in / Homesight

Year:

2024

Duration:

2 Months

Overview

Designed for Mob-in, Homesight’s in-house brand, these two compact washbasins were created to meet the needs of small water rooms, combining pure, functional aesthetics with ultra-affordable pricing. With budget constraints in mind, personality was brought to the forefront through subtle façade details, thoughtful accessories, and original formal design. The result: smart, space-saving solutions that prove that even the smallest pieces can make a strong design statement.

Brief

I was commissioned to design compact and low-cost washbasins for Mob-in, Homesight’s in-house brand. The goal was to create functional products for small water rooms, with a clean and minimal aesthetic. While the budget was limited, the pieces still needed to stand out with a clear identity, which was to be achieved through thoughtful detailing and formal originality.

Proposal

To respond to the brief, I designed two distinct washbasin solutions. The first, KODA, is a corner washbasin, ultra-compact yet offering closed storage. I gave it character through a subtle lines detail on the door and a sleek metal handle that also functions as a towel hook. The second model, FRAME, is inspired by our best-selling "LISA" unit, but with added personality. A framed door design and a unique towel-hook handle bring structure and identity to a previously more minimal piece.

I followed the project from start to finish: from formal design to prototype development with our Vietnamese factories, through final production and delivery to our warehouse in Lille. I also collaborated closely with our digital designer to oversee the creation of 3D visuals and support the product's launch.
